The schedule has expanded for the upcoming European/UK leg of Billy Corgan‘s operatic interpretation of The Smashing Pumpkins‘ “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness“. After bringing that landmark diamond-certified double album to the stage last fall in the alternative rock band’s hometown of Chicago, IL, that production has since been scheduled for select engagements this fall overseas. The revised schedule for that run now includes shows in Rotterdam and Brussels. Here’s what’s been booked:

08/29 Rotterdam, NET – De Doelen
08/30 Rotterdam, NET – De Doelen
09/01 London, UK – Royal Festival Hall
09/02 London, UK – Royal Festival Hall
09/04 Brussels, BEL – Bozar
09/06 Antwerpen, BEL – Queen Elizabeth Hall (two shows)
09/08 Paris, FRA – Salle Pleyel
09/09 Paris, FRA – Salle Pleyel
09/11 Madrid, SPA – Palacio Vistalegre
09/12 Madrid, SPA – Palacio Vistalegre
09/15 Lisbon, POR – Coliseu dos Recreios

Baritone Ed Parks will be appearing at the London, Belgium and France stops. Soprano Sydney Mancasola, mezzo-soprano Zoie Reams and tenor Dominick Valdes Chenes will be performing throughout the run. Baritone Dean Murphy however will only be appearing at the closing Spain stops only.

Corgan said of the production:

“The success of translating ‘Mellon Collie‘ into operatic and classical form has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life. Where on each of the 7 sold out nights in Chicago we’d finish within the raucous wave of a standing ovation. So to now take it on the road, and to Europe, too says this magical dream doesn’t have to end.”

The Smashing Pumpkins will also be out on the stage celebrating 30 years of the aforementioned record later this year in a more traditional live setting, having announced this upcoming tour last month.
