Drumeo have introduced acclaimed grunge drummer Matt Cameron to the music of rising alternative metal stars Bad Omens. The latter outfit have been racking up gold and platinum certifications in recent years, while Cameron is a two-time Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer, inducted for his contributions behind the kit with both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
Drumeo had Cameron take part in their ‘For The First Time’ series, during which they introduce a musician to a song they’re unfamiliar with. In this case, it was “Just Pretend“, a 2022 single from Bad Omens that went viral on TikTok and landed them their first platinum single certification back in April of 2024.
The catch here is that the version of the song Cameron first hears has had the drum tracks removed, providing him with a proverbial blank slate. Bad Omens drummer Nick Folio also shared his reaction to Cameron‘s take in this below video. Ahead of starting things off, Cameron joked, “Just don’t Sleep Token me.” He continued, “I was turned on to that band from your channel and the music is so f*cking good.”.
