Despite all signs pointing to Balmora having imploded in the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct & grooming involving a minor that surfaced against their guitarist Jay Torblaa last week, the band’s current status is “pending.” Yesterday, June 01st, the metalcore outfit issued this statement, outlining that Torblaa was “stepping away” from the band in the wake of the aforementioned allegations and that the band’s extensive summer tour would “continue as planned.”
Hours later, their bassist Danny Cuneo took to his own social media, declaring that the group had been “nuked” and indicated that he personally was out. Now comes word that Balmora have pulled out of their planned spring headlining run with Holder, Azshara and Contention. The latter trio will continue on with that trek, with Holder now headlining.
A new statement from Balmora‘s camp regarding the status of Balmora and the tour was issued to Loudwire, it read as follows:
“Balmora will no longer be appearing on their planned June tour and the status of the band is currently pending. Holder and Azshara will proceed with the tour, with Contention on select dates.”
These developments follow the May 29th release date of Balmora‘s latest studio album “These Graven Halls“.
