Saliva‘s twelfth studio album “Breaking Through” has been announced for an August 14th release through Judge & Jury Records. That new effort from the platinum-certified hard rock/nü-metal outfit has newly been preceded by the single “Sadistic Love“, a Toddi Babu-directed music video for which is streaming below.
According to frontman Bobby Amaru:
“Some relationships become a battlefield. You fight, you break, you swear it’s over, and then somehow you’re right back in the middle of it again. ‘Sadistic Love‘ is about being addicted to the very thing that hurts you. It’s about chaos disguised as passion and pain disguised as connection. Sometimes the scars become part of the attraction. It’s messy, it’s toxic, it’s real, and we wanted the song to feel exactly like that.”
With the passing of guitarist/vocalist Wayne Swinny back in 2023, the current incarnation of Saliva feature no original members dating back to the band’s mid-90s origins. Vocalist Bobby Amaru is the most tenured member, having joined the group back in 2011.
