Alternative metal outfit Butcher Babies had intentions to debut their new single “Blame It On The Wind” live at this past weekend’s ‘Sonic Temple‘ festival in Columbus, OH, but Mother Nature had other plans. The group’s set, along with two other performances, were cut in light of inclement weather that included lightning and rain.

While that live unveiling didn’t take place as hoped, Butcher Babies have now rolled out the studio version of the song online below. But thus far, that launch hasn’t been without a bit of controversy. Ahead of today’s launch, the group joked at their misfortune at the aforementioned fest with an AI-generated video. Fans and opponents of AI however seemingly took issue with the clip, not fully reading the caption for it.

As such, vocalist Heidi Shepherd issued the below video explanation, confirming that an official music video for this new track will arrive next week, and that this AI-generated video was a joke — as specified in its original caption.

Like recent singles from the band”, this new single “Blame It On The Wind” was again co-produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, P.O.D. and Three Days Grace drummer Neil Sanderson. Joe Rickard, formerly of In Flames and Red, also assisted with the production and mixing of this track. Benson and Sanderson head up Judge & Jury Records, whom Butcher Babies are signed with.
