Static Dress have been forced to vacate some of their immediate European touring plans, including Their shows in Lyon, FRA and Zurich, SWI with Knocked Loose later this month, and their participation in the Slam Dunk European festival stops.

A statement issued by the British post-hardcore/screamo band today, May 15th, reveals a family emergency has scuttled their plans. Here’s what was said:

“DUE TO A FAMILY EMERGENCY, WE UNFORTUNATELY WILL NO LONGER BE APPEARING ON THE UPCOMING KNOCKED LOOSE DATES OR OUR SLAM DUNK FESTIVAL EUROPE APPEARANCES.

THIS SITUATION IS PREVENTING US FROM BEING ABLE TO LEAVE THE UK AGAIN FOLLOWING OUR RETURN FROM AUSTRALIA. WE’RE INCREDIBLY SORRY TO EVERYONE WHO WAS PLANNING TO SEE US AND APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING WHILE WE PRIORITISE BEING HOME WITH OUR FAMILY.

WE ASK FOR SENSITIVITY WITH THIS MATTER AND THAT YOU PLEASE RESPECT OUR PRIVACY AT THIS TIME. WE’RE BEYOND EXCITED TO STILL SEE EVERYONE AT SLAM DUNK FESTIVAL UK AND AT OUR PANIC ROOM V4 SHOWS.

THANK YOU TO KNOCKED LOOSE AND THE SLAM DUNK TEAM FOR HAVING US, AND WE HOPE TO MAKE IT BACK AS SOON AS WE CAN.

WE’LL BE BACK IN EUROPE REALLY SOON, WE PROMISE.”

Static Dress will have their new album “Injury Episode” out through Sumerian Records on May 29th. Last month saw them release the song “…Hospice” as the third single from it.
