Glam metal legends Mötley Crüe and multi-platinum rockers Shinedown took to the stage for tonight’s (May 11th) season finale of the reality singing competition series ‘American Idol‘. Both outfits had some extra firepower onstage, with Mötley Crüe welcoming diamond-certified country star Carrie Underwood for an abbreviated performance of their 1985 power ballad “Home Sweet Home“, followed by a run-through of 1989’s”Kickstart My Heart“.
Shinedown for their part had ‘American Idol‘ contestant Philmon Lee join them for partial performance of their recent single “Searchlight” and their 4x platinum 2008 hit “Second Chance“. In addition to revealing this season’s winner, tonight’s episode also featured performances from a multitude of special guests, including Nelly, En Vogue and more.
