Bassist/vocalist Jonny Reeves has confirmed his latest exit from Kingdom Of Giants. Reeves had rejoined that Californian metalcore band back in January of 2024, though last year saw him brought in to replace Ahren Stringer in Australian metalcore band The Amity Affliction. In a newly posted episode of ‘The Downbeat Podcast‘, Reeves was asked about his current status in Kingdom Of Giants, to which he offered the following reply [transcribed by theprp.com]:

“I’m not in the band anymore, as of last December, I would say… Things just were coming to a head where they’re just like, ‘We’ve got plans, and you’ve got other plans going on over here.’ And so it was kind of this, it’s [an] in my court decision.

And I was just like, I don’t wanna hold them back from achieving their goals, but this [The Amity Affliction] aligns with the goals that I’m after. And with things just working so well with this group, it was really kind of a no-brainer. “

When the podcast’s host Craig Reynolds asked if there was any beef about the split, Reeves offered, “They’re disappointed.” Though it was implied that the parting may have not taken place on the best of terms, Reeves for his part went on to say there’s “no bad beef from my end.”

Reeves has gone on to settle in with The Amity Affliction, joining them on their recently released ninth studio album “House Of Cards“, while also remaining out on the road with them. Their current tour has them out co-headlining with August Burns Red on a run of shows that also features Boundaries and HEAVENSGATE. The remaining dates for that include:

05/08 Chicago, IL – Riviera Theatre
05/09 Royal Oak, MI – Royal Oak Music Theatre
05/10 Toronto, ON – History
05/12 Montreal, QC – Mtelus
05/13 Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Paramount
05/15 Baltimore, MD – Nevermore Hall
