Metallic hardcore outfit 100 Demons have announced a June 05th release date for their new album “Embrace The Black Light“. This record marks the band’s first new outing in over 20 years, serving as the follow-up to their 2004 self-titled affair. Recording sessions for the outing took place at Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, CT with Greg Thomas and engineer Chris Teti. GRAMMY Award-winning producer/musician Will Putney (Body Count, Better Lovers) mastered the effort.
Guest spots from Colin and Taylor Young of Twitching Tongues, God’s Hate — and in Colin‘s case, HardLore —are featured on this record. Furthermore, the band’s former guitarist Sean Martin (Twitching Tongues, ex-Hatebreed, Etc.) rejoined the band last year, though he now handles the bass duties.
The lead single from this comeback album has been titled “Meat For The Beast“, and the band’s vocalist Pete Morcey had the following to say about it:
“As with most of the songs on ‘Embrace The Black Light,’ ‘Meat For The Beast‘ was written and formulated in the studio during the last year. We mixed in a couple styles on this one blending 80s thrash metal and heavy pounding hardcore to give it the signature 100 Demons sound.”
Speaking of working on this long overdue return, Morcey added:
“Writing and recording ‘Embrace The Black Light‘ was an experience like no other. We were able to take our time and carefully craft every single song on this release. Working with Greg Thomas and Chris Teti at Silver Bullet made us realize we would not have been able to do this record without them. And with the guidance of Justin from Closed Casket Activities, we know they brought out the best of us on every level.”
