The time has come for Evil Island to launch their debut single, “Tiger Baby“. That collective features three members of post-hardcore/screamo outfit The Blood Brothers, including Johnny Whitney (vocals), guitarist/vocalist Cody Votolato and drummer Mark Gajadhar. As for the bass, that role is being filled by Autry Fulbright (OFF!, ex-…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, etc.).
Having already established a relationship amid their earlier days in The Blood Brothers, producer Ross Robinson (Korn, Slipknot) took on this new single and also signed the band to Blowed Out Records. He runs that label venture alongside Ghostemane and Bill Armstrong.
As for officially launching the band with this track, Whitney commented:
“We chose ‘Tiger Baby‘ for the first single from our new record because it’s kind of like the everything bagel of songs from the session. It’s heavy and crazy and chaotic but also very catchy and hooky which is very much what the entire record sounds like all baked into one song.”
Robinson meanwhile said of the band’s forthcoming debut album:
“This is a record I’ve wanted to make for way too long, ever since signing and producing The Blood Brothers‘ ‘Burn Piano Island, Burn‘ .. I feel Evil Island is the coolest fucking band on earth and dare anyone to step up to the unleashing fire these guys throw down- they’re the king of kings .. I can’t believe we got to make this thing, it’s an artistic/emotionally violent dream come true for me!”
