Californian post-hardcore band Dayseeker have reason to celebrate, having just secured their first-ever gold certification in the United States. On April 10th, the RIAA certified “Sleeptalk” — the title track to the group’s 2019 fourth studio album — gold. As you’d expect, as of press time that song towers above their catalog on Spotify, having racked up over 97 million streams. Its closest competitor is 2022’s “Without Me“, which is sitting at nearly 59 million streams.
*A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit. 150 streams of a song also equate to a track-equivalent unit.
