Sleep Token have officially landed their first platinum certification in the United States. The masked British alternative metal stars managed to make chart history with the #1 debut of their latest album “Even In Arcadia” in the United States last May. While that record went on to nab a gold certification in the U.S. this past January, neither it, nor any of its singles were the first to hit this new height in the aforementioned territory.
Instead, it’s “The Summoning“, the breakout second single from their third studio album, 2023’s “Take Me Back To Eden“, that has earned them this latest streaming/sales performance accolade. It was that song that also got them first gold certification in the United States back in December of 2024.
Now, as of April 10th, the RIAA have certified that single platinum, marking the band’s first time attaining that high of a certification in the United States.
*A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit. 150 streams of a song also equate to a track-equivalent unit.
