Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello can be heard on Peter Frampton‘s brand new track “Lions At The Gate“. This generational meeting of the minds of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-inducted guitar heroes past and present is part of Frampton‘s first new album in 16 years, “Carry The Light“. Morello is one of numerous guests on that record, which also includes spots from Sheryl Crow, Bill Evans and more. Frampton said of working with Morello, “Lions at the Gate is a powerful track with a powerful message, and Tom’s playing took it to another level.”
Frampton‘s son Julian also contributed vocals to tis track, which a press release described as, ‘a dynamic protest song featuring guitar by Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello, draws inspiration from lion statues outside Hollywood elite mansions in the 1920s. Frampton incorporates Morello’s signature heat to urge listeners to “tear down the lions at the gate,” symbolizing a bold challenge to the ultra-powerful.’
