Teenage hardcore outfit XCOMM have confirmed May 22nd as the release date for their debut album “Time To Burn“. The group, whose lineup features drummer Revel Ian — son of Anthrax, Mr. Bungle, etc. guitarist Scott Ian — recorded this first offering with acclaimed producer Ross Robinson behind the boards. Robinson is often referred to as the godfather of nü-metal due to his early involvement with Korn, Slipknot and more. He would also go on to produce albums from Glassjaw, The Cure and others.

Robinson‘s involvement with “Time To Burn” wasn’t strictly limited to the studio though, as the album will arrive through Blowed Out Records, a label jointly overseen by Robinson, Ghostemane and Bill Armstrong. While Robinson is known to have a somewhat confrontational and unconventional production style, Revel had nothing but positives to say about working with him on the record, offering, “Ross Robinson transformed us into musical weapons that will blow your head off when you play our record.”

The band’s frontman/guitarist Michael Gatto added:

“I’ll forever be grateful for having the opportunity to record this album, the whole process from tracking to mixing was truly incredible. ‘Borrowed Happiness‘ is one of my favorite tracks on the record, shooting the music videos with Darren and all the dudes in the van was super cool and I love when we play this one live.”

Robinson himself also commented on getting to work with the group:

“Nothing brings me more satisfaction as a producer than sharing that undeniable life force of untainted expression…XCOMM, being the youngest band I’ve ever worked with, I had to nickname the studio sessions as “daycare.” It was so fun and alive throughout the whole process. Made me realize on another level how important the pulse of youth truly is.”

Director Darren Craig was tasked with directing the below video for the album’s latest single “Borrowed Happiness“. XCOMM‘s lineup is completed by bassist Adan Escoto and DJ Hunter Grogan
