Polyphia guitarist Tim Henson got in the Easter spirit over the weekend, breaking out a slide for “He Is Risen“. A popular hymn of the same name has long been associated with Easter and has seen many incarnations over the years. The slide guitar is a new development for Henson, and he credited Stanly Bactian for showing him the ropes with it. Speaking on social media, Henson said:
“Thank you @stanly_bactian for teaching me slide guitar still very new into this journey so hopefully I can find some cool ways too implement it into my playing”
Bactian himself is no slouch when it comes to slide guitar. Last year the virtuoso aligned himself with Animals As Leaders guitarist Tosin Abasi‘s Abasi Concepts line of instruments.
