Despised Icon Won 'Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year' At The 2026 'Juno Awards'

Canadian deathcore outfit Despised Icon took home the Juno Award for the ‘Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year’ this weekend for their first album since 2019, last October’s “Shadow Work“. The group beat out efforts from the likes of Cryptopsy, Silverstein, Counterparts and more at this 55th annual edition of the awards.. The other nominees in that category this year included:

Counterparts – “Heaven Let Them Die
Cryptopsy – “An Insatiable Violence
Silverstein – “Antibloom
Unreqvited – “A Pathway To The Moon

As for this year’s ‘Rock Album Of The Year’ category, The Beaches took home the award for “No Hard Feelings“, beating out the following nominees:

Bryan Adams – “Roll With The Punches
grandson – “INERTIA
The Blue Stones – “Metro
The Damn Truth – “The Damn Truth
Three Days Grace – “Alienation
