Ice Nine Kills have taken the wraps off their second horror movie collaboration of the year. The gold-certified melodic metalcore band have now paired up with the new film ‘Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come‘ for the debut of their new song “Hell Or High Slaughter“. Taking things a bit further than usual, this cut finds the band adopting the persona of their ‘father’s band’ Grave Diggler, serving up a slice of vintage glam metal.
The below video for the track arrives as the aforementioned slasher horror/dark comedy opens in theaters, with Samara Weaving returning in the starring role. Fans can expect to hear a taste of the track both early in the film and during the end credits.
Never one to let a gimmick pass, Ice Nine KIlls frontman Spencer Charnas stated of this ‘long-banned 1987 music video’:
“I’ve been estranged from my father for a long time. But this movie, and this song, while bringing a lot of complicated feelings to the sruface, also brought us back together.”
Sonny Charnas, father of Spencer, also offered a quote on the matter, offering: “You call my son shrieking into a microphone like a meshuggah mental patient ‘singing’? That’s not heavy metal. I’m heavy metal.” An elaborate faux documentary was put together with various special guests to herald in the arrival of this track, you can watch it below:
