Lamb of God have confirmed the relative limited availability of their new “Into Oblivion” b-side track “Wire“. According to the band, that track will only officially be available with the ITunes and Amazon Music versions of their aforementioned 10th studio album until midnight tonight, March 19th.

“Hello to all Lamb of God fans around the world.

We wanted to take a moment, and address some of the rumors that have been circulating online about the band and our latest album…

We’ll address the situation in as much detail as we can share, and we’ll do our best to speak candidly on the next couple of slides.

You may have heard that we have a bonus track “Wire” that was NOT included in the original Into Oblivion track listing. THIS IS TRUE. You can grab the Into Oblivion (Bonus Track Edition) now on iTunes and Amazon music for just $4.99.

HOWEVER. DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES.

UNFORTUNATELY…

With our deepest regret, we must inform you all that the bonus track edition is only available until MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

So this is your last chance.”

Outside of the eye-catching promotional stunt of addressing the matter via the infamous allegations-styled statement format, there’s certainly a reason why the band would choose to offer the track like this. The group’s team are apparently aiming for the highest number they can get when the record debuts on the charts next week. Where as 10 permanent downloads from a particular album counting as 1 unit, to reach that same equivalent with streaming audio, it requires 1500 on-demand streams.
