British doom metal outfit Kulk have signed with Church Road Records. With writing for a new album underway, the band have just released their track “Ache” below. As they revealed, that song is partially an ode to a fallen friend:
“‘Ache‘, is not only for our friend Meg who we lost in 2023, it’s for all of us left behind. This track was the first we had written after she died and has opened our shows for a while now. ‘Ache‘ describes living with grief after years. It’s not the immense pain of the first few days, but it’s ever present and consistent. Like a broken bone that hasn’t healed right, it has changed the way we move, act and think; always there never letting up. It was also an honour to have Hannah Asprey, of the band IAN, perform a devastatingly beautiful cello feature.”
