A second song has been shared from the upcoming extended eight-track joint album from pioneering grindcore band Napalm Death and influential grunge/sludge metal outfit Melvins. Titled “Savage Imperial Death March“, a previous version of that record emerged as a tour-exclusive release amid a past run the bands undertook together.
Now sporting two extra bonus tracks and new art and packaging, that outing will be getting a wide release on April 10th. The song “Rip The God” from it has just met its official digital release and Napalm Death bassist/vocalist Shane Embury had the following to say about that:
“The opening Buzz [Osborne, Melvins vocalist/guitarist] riff begins with that classic timing – a hiccup right at the end of the riff cycle making the riff extra special! Simple yet tricky to remember… it had my head spinning when I played the bass to it – Multiply that head spin with the guitar pedal noise static we all added – God was ripped and drunk on joyful noise…”
