The nominees are out for this year’s Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees and once again among them are a metal band long sought to be a glaring oversight by the Rock Hall. While they have been nominated on multiple occasions now, British new wave of heavy metal legends Iron Maiden have yet to make it into Rock Hall — a thorny issue not only among the band’s legions of fans, but also within the group as well. Back in 2018, the group’s vocalist Bruce Dickinson publicly slammed the Rock Hall, stating:
“I actually think the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is an utter, complete load of bollocks to be honest with you.
It’s run by a bunch of sanctimonious bloody Americans who wouldn’t know rock’n’roll if it hit them in the face. They need to stop taking Prozac and start drinking fucking beer!”
