SUN DONT SHINE, a supergroup collective that consists of Crowbar vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein, ex-Type O Negative guitarist/vocalist Kenny Hickey and drummer/vocalist Johnny Kelly, and ex-Crowbar/Down bassist Todd Strange, have announced an April 01st release date for their debut album “FROM BIRTH TO DEATH“. That record will arrive via Corpse Paint Records and is newly being preceded by the single “Power To Live“.
Per a press release, ”Power To Live‘ grew out of a conversation around the single’s striking cover art, when Hickey remarked how shameful it is that, as human beings, we still haven’t evolved beyond killing one another. That observation became the song’s core: a stark acknowledgment of history’s repeated failures, paired with a refusal to surrender to them. ‘The track is a challenge to the times we’re living in,’ the band explains, ‘an insistence on survival and consciousness in the face of cycles that refuse to break.’
A limited-edition art collaboration with Nadiya Vizier has been released alongside the single, with 100 hand-signed posters autographed by Vizier and more being being launched. A music video for the song was shot with director Mike Holderbeast (Down, Corrosion Of Conformity) and will be premiering on February 18th.
