Life Of Agony have released a live video for their cover of Simple Minds‘ 1985 hit “Don’t You (Forget About Me)“. That song’s prominent placement in the film ‘The Breakfast Club‘ made it an enduring anthem for much of the 80s. This featured performance of the track was captured amid Life Of Agony‘s European touring with Leigh Brooks directing. The band’s own guitarist Joey Zampella took on the mixing and mastering of the performance.
Life Of Agony have had longstanding ties to the track, having included it as the closing track on their 1995 sophomore album “Ugly“. As bassist Alan Robert went on to explain, it wasn’t until recent years that it finally made it to the stage:
“Even though our studio version of ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)‘ appears on Ugly, we had never performed the song live until the 30 Years of Ugly anniversary tour. Bringing it to the stage after all these years — and experiencing the live energy of the crowd — made the song one of the highlights of the set every night.”
