Eidola‘s new single “Purity Ladder” received its online debut this morning, February 12th. That standalone single from the progressive post-hardcore outfit arrives through their new label home of 3DOT Recordings. Djent purveyors Periphery head up that label and added Eidola to the roster last December.
Eidola vocalist Andrew Wells (also of Dance Gavin Dance) said of this new cut:
“This song was written as a snapshot of modern time to convey a deeply haunting sense of brutalism. Angular, heavy, concrete, and imposing. Regarding the lyrics, take a look at the world around you. Don’t it feel like we’re heading toward some glorious utopia or an unimaginable hellscape? What do you value most in existence and why? Is modernity everything you hoped it would be? Or are you still angry, tired, overwhelmed, and absolutely fed up? Society consumes, regurgitates, vomits up lies, and distorts reality. Welcome to the ‘Purity Ladder.’”
Eidola co-directed the “Purity Ladder” video alongside Sam Halleen (HEALTH, August Burns Red). The song’s arrival comes just over a week ahead of the launch of the band’s next headlining tour, which will see NERV & Astronoid opening.
