Maynard James Keenan and his bandmates in alternative rock outfit Puscifer have shared a cover of Duluth, MN-based slowcore outfit Low‘s “Congregation“. That track arrives not only in tribute to Low‘s late vocalist/drummer Mimi Parker, but also as some sonic commentary regarding the ongoing immigration raids being conducted in Minnesota this year by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Those divisive raids have resulted in several ICE-involved fatal shootings and mass protests.
Keenan said of the motivation behind this cover on his social media:
“All the madness going on in Minneapolis sent me down a @lowtheband rabbit hole. Missing Mimi Parker. Carina suggested maybe we cover a song in her and their honor. Merchants of Emotion is in our job description. “Discovering New and Awful Ways to Treat Each Other” wasn’t on my Bingo card for 2026, but here we are. #worldwartres #civilwardeux #smalldickenergy”
Puscifer‘s new studio album “Normal Isn’t” will be arriving this Friday, February 06th.
