Thrash metal legends Megadeth were recently honored by the city of La Vergne, TN with mayor Jason Cole proclaiming this past Saturday, January 17th, ‘Megadeth Day‘. The proclamation coincided with a special live/listening party Megadeth held in the city that day, which the band dubbed ‘Let There Be Shred‘ in honor of their recent single of the same name.
Megadeth were presented with the honor at La Vergne City Hall a day prior, per WKRN. Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine relocated to Tennessee over a decade ago. This Friday, January 23rd, will see the release of the band’s final studio album, “Megadeth“.
