Shields have released a new single titled “Miss Me“, along with an official music video for it. The British metalcore band’s guitarist/vocalist Samuel Kubrick Finney co-directed the clip alongside Oli Duncanson. The song itself is a tribute to the group’s former guitarist George Christie, who took his own life back in 2018. Shields collectively stated:

“Some of you may know this; some of you may not. Shields were a band for many years before we went on a long hiatus in 2018. The principal reason for this was that our dear friend and band member, George Christie, took his own life. It was a harrowing time, and the loss of George cast a huge cloud over us that required us to stop pursuing Shields as a project.

Fast forward to 2024: Joe and Sam began writing ‘Death & Connection‘. Joe had a song he had written that was never intended for this band—or any other project. That song was ‘Miss Me‘, written not long after the funeral. He decided to bring it to Shields, where Joe, Sam, and Larry (previously of Shields) finished it together.

Don’t suffer alone. Someone always cares.”

Shields‘ new album “Death & Connection” will be out on January 30th.
