While 2025 saw the first two live shows from influential mathcore outfit The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza since 2011, it has also presented some questions. The most prominent of those is of course the status of guitarist Josh Travis. An August 2025 post from the band seemed to indicate that their return would feature three guitarists, including Travis, the returning Layne Meylain, and the newly recruited, Eric Berngruber. However, Travis was absent at both reunion shows.
With word of the band’s first album since 2012 in the works, questions regarding Travis‘ status in the outfit have only intensified. The group are certainly aware of such concerns, and today, December 01st, issued the below video on social media promising to reveal all through an upcoming episode of The Totally Legitimate Business Podcast.
While that episode won’t air till this Sunday, December 07th, the below thumbnail for it certainly seems to suggest that Travis remains a member. The description for the video even goes so far as to tease, ‘Josh reflects on his own creative progression, and what the future could hold for the band’s next chapter.’
An integral piece of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza sound, Travis‘ inventive riffing was a highlight of the band’s initial output. During their hiatus, he went on to join Emmure, a role he has held since 2016.
