Steve Smith, known for his work behind the drum kit with Vital Information and Journey, has once again been put through the paces by the Musora Media company. Having previously been tasked with covering Soundgarden‘s “Black Hole Sun“ by Musora, Drumeo have now challenged him with putting his own stamp on another grunge classic. This time around it’s “Would?“, the 2x platinum-selling single from Alice In Chains‘ 1992 landmark album “Dirt“. Given his long history with jazz and big band, it would seem grunge is a bit of a blind spot in his playlists.
As per Drumeo‘s guidelines, the musician on the hot seat must not have heard the track before. Furthermore, they are introduced to the track via an altered version that has had the percussion removed, thus allowing them to freely come up with their own parts.
