Einar Solberg, vocalist/keyboardist for Norwegian prog rockers Leprous, has once again stepped out on own. His latest solo single, “Stella Mortua” has just arrived and finds him flanked by the The Norwegian Radio Orchestra. Solberg said of it:

“‘Stella Mortua‘ is one of the darkest and most grandiose pieces I’ve ever written — a fusion of progressive metal and cinematic orchestration, recorded by the incredible Norwegian Radio Orchestra. It explores how envy and insecurity can quietly thrive beneath the surface of success. In this world, demons wear tuxedos, and pride slowly turns to paralysis.

With ‘Stella Mortua‘, the Einar Solberg project has truly found its sound: highly dynamic, orchestral and cinematic progressive metal with an emotional core. I’m going all the way with this.”

While billed as a solo track, “Stella Mortua” found Solberg receiving plenty of help in the studio. His collaborators in drummer Keli Guðjónsson (Agent Fresco) and violinist Chris Baum (Bent Knee) were back onboard for this track. Outside of the orchestra, there was some fresh faces involved too in guitarist Pierre Daniel and bassist Jed Lindgard.

The fall of 2026 will find Solberg out playing shows support his eventual sophomore solo album, with the below dates confirmed:
