Great American Ghost‘s “Scars” has arrived online as a new standalone single. The track is actually a b-side from the sessions for the Boston metalcore band’s latest album “Tragedy Of The Commons“. Vocalist Ethan Harrison said of it:
“‘Scars‘ was the heaviest song we recorded during the ‘Tragedy Of The Commons‘ sessions. When we looked back at everything we’d made, this one stood out — it had a different kind of energy, something we knew people needed to hear, but in its own space. Releasing it separately feels right; it gives the song the weight and focus it deserves. This is the angriest side of the ‘Tragedy Of The Commons‘ era. Prepare yourself.”
Of course it doesn’t hurt that the song is arriving amid the band’s November headlining run with Wristmeetrazor, Downsing and Saltwound. Speaking of which, Harrison also guested on Saltwound‘s new song “Apparition“, which debuted earlier this month.
