Quicksand‘s 1995 post-hardcore staple “Manic Compression” turned 30 this past February. In celebration of that milestone, a new vinyl run and book have newly been announced by Iodine Recordings. Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor) took on remastering this effort from the original master tapes. This reissue is now housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket with expanded artwork reconstructed from Melinda Beck‘s archival sketches.
A 64-page hardcover book commemorating the album’s aforementioned anniversary is also being prepared. Here’s what a press release had to say of it:
‘The book includes a foreword by Walter Schreifels, never-before-seen photographs, original art, rare concert posters, and more from 1994–1995. It also features written tributes from members of Knocked Loose, Coheed and Cambria, New Found Glory, Bane, Orange 9mm, Limp Bizkit, Drug Church, Touché Amoré, P.O.D., Fiddlehead, Glassjaw, H2O, At the Drive-In, and others. Complete with a case-wrapped, soft-touch cover, this definitive companion piece is an essential addition to any fan’s collection.’
A trailer has been shared below, with pre-orders for both items available now at linktr.ee/iodinerecordings. A January 30th release date is expected for the physical copies associated with this release.
