Astronoid‘s new “Depressed Mode” video is now available to watch. The progressive post-metal trio have issued that clip in tandem with today’s (November 07th) release of their album “Stargod“. That record arrives through 3DOT Recordings, the label overseen by djent practioneers Periphery. Astronoid‘s multi-instrumentalist Brett Boland elaborated on the the stilted origins of this track as follows:

“‘Depressed Mode” almost didn’t make the record. We were trying to complete the record but there wasn’t enough time to finish the lyrics, form, and rehearse the track so it was put on the backburner. We all loved where it was going but there just wasn’t enough time. There was a point in the process though where we had to completely halt the recording of ‘Stargod‘ due to family matters.

When we got back to it, we decided that the best thing to do was re-track all of the drums for the record. The original drums were recorded in my basement and it was holding back the entire mix. So, with this new date to record in the books I was able to finish ‘Depressed Mode’ and we rehearsed it in time for the recording session. It ended up being one of the most unique tracks on the record and really solidified ‘Stargod‘ as a whole.”

The just debuted video was directed by James Singleton and shot at Blackheart Sound.
