Musician/model Ignacia Fernández delivered a performance from her progressive death metal outfit Decessus while appearing in the semifinals of the competition for Miss Mundo Chile (aka Miss World Chile.) Flanked by her bandmate Carlos Palma, the duo tore into a live rendition of a new song from their upcoming album. Below, you can also find a video for the band’s latest single “Dark Flames“.
Taking to social media to discuss her performance at the semifinals, Fernández offered:
Metal has been a fundamental part of who I am as a person and in my life: a refuge, a source of strength and purpose. Being able to express it on stage at @chilevision and @misschilemundo was an opportunity I deeply value.
It was a great experience to break down barriers on open television, inspire, be real with it and show that you don’t have to fear the prejudices of others.
