Trivium‘s new EP “Struck Dead” has made its way out into the world today, October 31st. That three-song collection serves as their last effort with drummer Alex Bent behind the kit. His tenure in the Floridian metal band came to an end earlier this month, with this statement released on the matter. While Sepultura‘s Greyson Nekrutman was recruited in the interim, the band have since decided upon utilizing the services of Alex Rüdinger (ex-Whitechapel, etc.) going forward. You can expect the latter to be behind the kit amid their immediate touring and their eventual new album sessions.

The release of “Struck Dead” has been paired with a music video directed by Black Card Films for the EP’s title track. Bassist/vocalist Paolo Gregoletto said of the release overall:

“Born from months of revisiting and performing ‘Ascendancy‘ in full, this EP channels that familiar power and spirit while pushing into new territory. We feel that ‘Struck Dead‘ stands as the first step into a bold new era for us and we happy to finally share it with all of you.”
