Canadian post-hardcore band Second Harbour have joined the SharpTone Records roster. The band have their new EP “Coalesce” on track for a December 12th release date. The song “Relative” kicks off their new era, emerging online today, October 22nd with the below Travis Didluck video. Drummer John Muggianu stated:
“Right as we wrapped ‘Relative,’ we knew it’d be the EP opener. It’s everything we wanted out of our first track. It’s urgent, it’s vicious, and more than anything, it’s unrelenting.”
Vincent Morency, who ironically has a relative in the band in his brother Xavier, commented of this new EP:
“We had a lot to prove with this EP. To the world, absolutely, but to ourselves even more so. We didn’t want to come out with what’d been done before, or worse, what we’d done before. In the past, we’d always felt concerned about assimilating into the scene, and writing songs that fit into whatever sub-genre we were a part of.”
This time around, equipped with everything we’d learned through our past releases, we felt it high time we took the swings we always wanted to. So we did just that. We came out swinging. Our title track is four-and-a-half minutes long, our third track has both the happiest and heaviest parts we’ve ever written, and our main single has so many lyrics, we need a permit for them. We took these swings and left the studio more confident than ever in the work we’d done. This collection of songs is Second Harbour. Coalesce IS Second Harbour.”
