This past weekend Guns N’ Roses vocalist Axl Rose was seen venting his frustrations onstage, at one point throwing a microphone at the drum kit of the band’s newest member, Isaac Carpenter. That incident took place during the hard rock juggernauts’ October 18th concert at Estadio Huracán in Buenos Aires, Argentina. That set also Rose storm off the stage following the opening song, “Welcome To The Jungle“, and at one point come up and kick Carpenter‘s bass drum.
While some saw this as shades of the old, notoriously volatile Axl Rose of old making his dreaded return, others speculated that Rose may have been beefing with Carpenter. In a new post shared today, October 22nd, the band offered an explanation for Rose‘s crash out, revealing it to be related to technical issues. The group stated:
“During the opening song at our recent Buenos Aires concert, Axl’s in-ear monitor pack had only the percussion in his ears versus his entire mix. The issue was fixed by our tech team by the third song, and we had a great night. The situation had nothing to do with Isaac Carpenter‘s playing, who is top notch and a great drummer.”
Carpenter replaced Frank Ferrer in the group back in March of this year.
