It would appear that the dispute between ‘Hellfest‘ founder Keith Allen and Trustkill Records founder Josh Grabelle has resulted in a rival festival. This past summer, Allen called out Grabelle, accusing him of ‘hijacking’ the ‘Hellfest‘ brand to launch his ‘Hellphyra‘ festival. Allen issued this statement, outlining the allegedly unscrupulous tactics employed to wrest control of the ‘Hellfest‘ branding away from him.
Now associates of Allen have been promoting the upcoming launch of a new festival, the not so subtly named ‘Endless Fires Festival‘. Allen also went on to confirm his involvement in the festival on social media himself in the comments of a post in which he recently lamented the reveal of Grabelle‘s upcoming ‘Hellfest West‘ event.
Allen stated on his social media of that latest ‘Hellfest‘ iteration:
“Again with this shit. This is NOT HELLFEST. This is another lie brought to you by some people that couldn’t come up with their own original thing. Imagine your brand being so weak that you had to dig up someone else’s very retired brand and pretend it was your own. It’s a shame too I consider a few of the bands on this friends. But when it comes down to it, it’s all just about being cool for 5 minutes and getting paid.”
Replying to a comment on the below Instagram post questioning his past touring with Skycamefalling and their involvement on this upcoming West Coast ‘Hellfest‘ festival, Allen replied, “…im not sure if they know what’s really going on. Maybe they don’t realize this isn’t actually HELLFEST but a total fucking jerk off and they should drop it and come play the new fest that we are doing in Syracuse next year…”
Thus far, a teaser site for the ‘Endless Fires Fest‘ has been launched via endlessfiresfest.com, with the event planned to launch in Syracuse, NY this coming August.
