Aric Improta, drummer for Night Verses, House Of Protection, and formerly the resident percussionist for Fever 333, has taken part in Drumeo‘s prolific ‘For The First Time’ challenge. Known for his drumming prowess and physical acrobatics, Improta was tasked with coming up with his own parts “Bye Bye Beautiful“, a 2008 single from Finnish symphonic power metal outfit Nightwish.
Drumeo introduced Improta to the track via a version that featured the percussion removed in a bit to give him a blank slate to play with. You can watch him discuss his creative process in tackling the track, including his first stabs and eventual final take, before hearing the actual complete studio version.
