After close to a week of teasing their proverbial ‘death’, melodic metalcore group Atreyu have unveiled their brand new single “Dead“. The publicity stunts leading up to this big reveal included blacking out their social media and hosting an obituary notice through atreyuisdead.com.
Unfortunately for the band, the wealth of touring they have booked in advance, and the recent addition of more dates in 2026, didn’t exactly lend credibility to their ploy. Speaking of this new track, the band collectively offered the following of the song:
“‘Dead‘ asked the question I feel many ask. Do I matter? Would anyone actually notice if I was gone? Not speaking in the space of depression or suicidal thought, but more in the grand scheme of life. We all want and aspire to leave some sort of lasting legacy or impression, but do we really matter? I guess we all hope so.”
The group recorded this latest single with Matthew Pauling behind the boards. Various touring on the 20th anniversary of their gold-certified 2004 album “The Curse” will see them through the year, including the following stops:
