Various young aspiring musicians from the Silverlake Conservatory Of Music have united under the banner of SCM All-Stars for a new tribute to funk rock icons Red Hot Chili Peppers. That effort has been dubbed “Our Loving Tribute to Red Hot Chili Peppers” and finds students of the conservatory uniting on covers of “Subway To Venus“, “Sick Love“, “Hump de Bump” and “Soul To Squeeze“.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea served as an executive producer on the release alongside Hipgnosis Songs founder Merck Mercuriadis. Speaking of the project, Red Hot Chili Peppers vocalist Anthony Kiedis shared:

“I can’t think of anyone I’d rather be tributized by. Student musicians are the best. Let’s all take a listen to how they interpret these tunes. Thank you Flea and good work Merck.”

Flea added:

“The kids! I’m so grateful that our music can be a vehicle for their spirits to fly. This is what music is for. I am so proud of them.”

While Red Hot Chili Peppers sold off their publishing rights to Hipgnosis Songs Fund back in 2021, proceeds generated from this new EP will be donated to the Silverlake Conservatory Of Music. In related news, Flea sat in with some of the students from the conservatory for a performance of “Hump de Bumpthis past August.
