In a surprise announcement made tonight, September 12th, hard rock chart-toppers Foo Fighters have announced an intimate last-minute show for their live return. The group last took to the stage back in September of 2024, just before going on hiatus as vocalist/guitarist Dave Grohl publicly admitted to infidelity that newly resulted in the birth of a child outside of his marriage.
Grohl would later go on to make sporadic live guest appearances throughout this year. The band themselves remained relatively quiet on the live front, outside of announcing some shows for the fall this past May.
May would see a lineup shake up the group fire their drummer Josh Freese, picking up Nine Inch Nails‘ Ilan Rubin as their latest percussionist. Ultimately, that new lineup acquisition wound up being a somewhat direct drummer trade with the latter industrial metal legends.
That catches us up to tonight’s announcement in which the Foo Fighters will be playing the 900 cap Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, CA this Saturday, September 13th. With such limited capacity, ticket sales for the event will be limited to in-person box office only, with the box office set to open tomorrow, September 13th at 08:00am PST. A 2-ticket limit per person will be instated and fans will also only be able to begin lining up for the at the box office at 07:00am PST.
See below for exact details for the surprise set. Further scheduled live performances from the band this year include:
