Professionally-filmed footage of Rage Against The Machine‘s set at the 2008 ‘Pinkpop‘ festival in Landgraaf, NET has newly been shared online by the festival’s archival channel. That set transpired on June 01st of that year and opened with the band making a political statement (presumably towards the detainment, treatment and torture taking place at Guantanamo Bay detention camp.)
The now Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-inducted rap-metal firebrands delivered a set consisting of fourteen songs during their time onstage, with the setlist running as follows:
“Bombtrack”
“Bulls On Parade”
“Testify”
“People Of The Sun”
“Know Your Enemy”
“Bullet In The Head”
“Down Rodeo”
“Born Of A Broken Man”
“Guerrilla Radio”
“Calm Like A Bomb”
“Sleep Now In The Fire”
“Wake Up”
“Freedom”
“Killing In The Name”
Rage Against The Machine would play the ‘Pinkpop‘ festival four times over the years. Their first visit went down back in 1993, with the band returning the next year in 1994. They would go on to play it again in 1996, with this 2008 set marking their final time at the annual event. So far only the 1996 performance from the band has yet to be released by the Pinkpop Archive channel.
