Baroness have issued a brief statement regarding the recent death of their co-founding drummer Allen Blickle. Word of Blickle‘s untimely passing began circulating last weekend, as friends and family shared tributes online. Now Baroness‘ vocalist/guitarist John Baizley has briefly addressed the loss, stating the following on social media today, September 08th:
“It breaks my heart to have to share the news that my dear friend, creative partner and former bandmate Allen Blickle passed away a few days ago. I’m still in shock that he’s gone. We ask for understanding as his family and this band process his passing and grieve his loss. Allen, I love you and miss you. I treasure every moment we shared.”
Blickle was a member of the band from their earliest days through to around 2013. His departure followed soon after he and much of the band suffered serious injuries in a 2012 bus crash while on tour in Europe.
