John Dolmayan On Recent Mismatched System Of A Down & Deftones Shirts: "Many Will Want These, Few Will Get Them!"

The apparently misprinted merch items from System Of A Down & Deftones that were made available at the merch stand during the two bands’ Rogers Stadium shows in Toronto, ON earlier this week won’t be made officially available elsewhere.

Given that the shirts were branded with the aforementioned venue and the tour was concluding, that seemed an obvious development. However, those hoping for a future print run seem out of luck. Each of the two shirts, which retailed for $70 CAD, incorrectly featured photos of the respective nü-metal and alternative metal giants under each other’s logo.

System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan has taken to social media to comment on the shirts and their exclusivity, stating yesterday, September 05th:

Many will want these , few will get them ! Only available at the Toronto shows , in fact they may already all be gone………..

Notably, there has been discussion among the band’s fan community that the shirts may have been a response to misprinted bootleg shirts being sold near venues of earlier stops on the trek. Regardless of how they came to be, the shirts have already become a highly desired collector’s item, commanding prices as high as $125 USD on eBay. Savvy bootleggers appear to have also looked to capitalize on the shirts, offering their own prints for far cheaper.

Last night’s stop in Toronto concluded the pair of dates the two bands played together, as well as System Of A Down‘s brief run of summer stadium shows.
