Co-founding Pink Floyd bassist/vocalist/guitarist, etc. Roger Waters didn’t mince words on his opinion on the late heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and the heavy metal pioneering outfit he fronted, Black Sabbath. In an interview conducted several weeks ago by the The Independent Ink, Waters spoke callously of Osbourne and his July 22nd, 2025 passing, stating:
“Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever state that he was in his whole life. We’ll never know. Although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense. The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a fuck.”
Waters continued:
“I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. Have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know.”
Tonight (September 02nd) saw Ozzy‘s son publicly address Waters‘ comments, stating on social media:
“Hey Roger Waters, fuck you. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bullshit in the press. My father always thought you were a cunt. Thanks for proving him right.”
In a separate slide shared on his Instagram stories, Jack shared the hashtag “#fuckrogerwaters”. Both Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath left an indelible mark on the world of rock and metal, and have summarily been recognized by the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame for their contributions. Pink Floyd were inducted in Rock Hall back 1996, while Black Sabbath made it in some ten years later in 2006.
