Chevy Metal didn’t skimp on guests when it came to their August 31st show at The Canyon in Agoura Hills, CA. That group of course previously featured the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, etc. fame. Their summer touring has seen his son Shane take up residence behind the drum kit for the lively covers band.

Among the guests to partake in the show mentioned above were Foo Fighters vocalist/guitarist Dave Grohl, who performed alongside FEAR‘s Lee Ving on a cover of the latter’s “Beef Bologna“.

Later in the night, Anthrax‘s Scott Ian stepped in for covers of Black Sabbath‘s “The Wizard” and “Sweet Leaf“. That latter track turned out to be a family affair for Ian, with his wife Pearl Aday stepping in on vocals and their son Revel Ian sitting on drums. Guitarist Phil Demmel (Kerry King, ex-Machine Head, etc.) and bassist Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, etc.) also sat in. Both Scott and Revel wen on run through a cover of Bad Brains‘ “Big Takeover” with Shane Hawkins on vocals.

Elsewhere in the night, KissGene Simmons hit the stage for covers of his band’s “Deuce” and “Rock And Roll All Nite” with special guests, as well as cover of Motörhead‘s “Ace Of Spades“. Drummer Brian Tichy (Gene Simmons, Ozzy Osbourne, etc.) was involved with all three of those performances.

Sebastian Bach was another featured performer, fronting covers of Jane’s Addiction‘s “Mountain Song” alongside former Jane’s drummer Stephen Perkins. Bach also fronted a rendition of Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Crazy Train” with Sarzo and Demmel, and covers of Mötley Crüe‘s “Looks That Kill” and his own former band Skid Row‘s “18 And Life“, among others.
