Cody “Porkchop” Ash, drummer for multi-platinum country rocker Jelly Roll, recently got an introduction to the title track from thrash metal legends Slayer‘s gold-certified 1990 album “Seasons In The Abyss“.
While Ash has some experience in heavier music, including stints in metalcore outfits Sylar and O’Kingdom, he was not familiar with the track beforehand. As such, Drumeo put him to the task of coming up with his own drum parts for it, having giving him the initial few listens with the percussion removed.
