A new project from Twelve Foot Ninja guitarist Steve “Stevic” MacKay is in the works. MacKay revealed the news overnight, while also discussing how he’s shored up the rights to the Twelve Foot Ninja catalog, and released a digital compilation compiling the band’s works. Dubbed “The Silly Sausage Survival Pack“, that set compiles the following efforts:

- “Smoke Bomb” – 2010
- “Silent Machine” (bonus edition) – 2012
- “Outlier” (bonus edition) – 2016
- “Stuck With You” Single – 2020
- “Vengeance” – 2022
- “Mutant Dreams & Face Transplants” – 2024
That set can be purchased via twelvefootninja.com. These developments come about after that defunct Australian metal band’s music was pulled from streaming last month. MacKay stated of that set and the veritable spiritual successor to Twelve Foot Ninja he has been working on:
“TL;DR: Flicked my parallel reality fridge magnet, got ALL my rights back, initiated Twelve Foot Ninja v2.0. New EP in the works. No label, no former members. New vocalist.
The quick backstory: The former label agreement is no more. Every obstacle that made TFN impossible is flopping around on the floor like the fish at the end of the Epic video.
TFN as you knew it is over, which I know will disappoint some. The former members were not involved in this and have chosen not to be. I respect their contributions and will never try to erase or replace them. However, I started this weird ADHD genre-bending metal project almost 18 years ago; the compositional approach, music production, comics, humour, and music videos are tethered to my creative identity – That’s not hubris or a Scooby Doo reveal, “that’s just the way it is” – Phil Collins.

I make stuff because I love it and what I make sounds and looks like Twelve Foot Ninja – because it is. That’s why I’ve spent the past 2 years meticulously dismantling logical incoherence.
