Several alumni of the hit HBO series ‘Game Of Thrones‘ were in attendance yesterday, July 05th, at Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne‘s farewell live extravaganza. That ‘Back To The Beginning‘ event took place at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK and saw actor Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo on the hit series, serve as the official host for the concert. Momoa, known for his roles in ‘Aquaman, ‘A Minecraft Movie‘ and more, once again headed out into the pit for Pantera‘s set at that all-star sendoff, footage of which can be seen below.
He wasn’t the only ‘Game Of Thrones‘ veteran to take in the big day however, as fellow star Maisie Williams was in attendance, with the co-creator of the aforementioned HBO adaptation of the series, D.B. Weiss, also spotted backstage. Furthermore, Weiss‘ son Hugo performed as part of a special tribute to Ozzy that was aired during yesterday’s concert.
Actor/musician Jack Black fronted that featured cover of Osbourne‘s “Mr. Crowley“, which found Roman Morello, son of Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello on guitar, Revel Young Ian, son of Anthrax‘s Scott Ian on bass, and Yoyoka Soma on drums.
Tom also served as the musical director for yesterday’s supergroup tributes to Sabbath and Osbourne, and hit the stage several times. Tom and Weiss are also longtime friends, frequently taking part in games of Dungeons & Dragons together.
